The Challenge
NextUP PH is a creative and career academy that runs in-person courses, classes, and one-on-one sessions in Makati, taught by a roster of working-practitioner mentors. Their model doesn’t fit an ordinary online store: each class has a mentor, a schedule, a physical venue, and a hard seat limit — and multi-session courses are sold as a set, not as separate items.
They needed a platform where a prospective learner could discover the right offering — by course, by mentor, or by learner profile — then enroll and pay online, while seats stayed accurate so an in-person class could never be oversold.
What We Built
- A custom “workshop” content type. Courses, classes, and one-of-ones are managed as a dedicated content type with their own taxonomies, so the catalogue can be browsed by course, by mentor, and by learner profile rather than forced into generic shop categories.
- WooCommerce-powered enrollment (Dynamic Learner Checkout). A custom checkout flow adapted for enrolling learners — capturing the details a class needs and tying each purchase to the right session, instead of a standard product checkout.
- Course Packages & Inventory Sync. A custom plugin that bundles individual classes into full courses sold as one package, and keeps seat inventory synchronised across them — so limited in-person capacity is enforced automatically and classes stop selling once full.
- Guided discovery and corporate path. A “Find the class for me” learner-profile journey for individuals, plus a “NextUp for Your Business” route for teams that want a tailored learning track.
- Managed WordPress hosting. Built on a responsive WordPress theme and hosted and maintained by Wazile for speed and reliability.
